Melanie Bowen - Branch Manager

Melanie manages both the Grantham and Newark Offices, her wealth of knowledge in lettings gained from over 23 years in the business means that if you need assistance with any lettings queries, she is the person to ask.

Arla PROPERTYMARK qualified, she is fully up to date with all lettings legislation and will ensure that all properties meet the necessary legal requirements.

Melanie  covers every aspect of the job, ensuring new legislations are adhered to and that landlords are kept up to date and make the necessary changes when required. She will monitor your property when it is available to ensure that it is advertised to achieve its maximum potential.

She is there to ensure that your tenant is the right tenant for you, that arrears if / when they occur are dealt with promptly and effectively and that properties are maintained by both landlords and tenants.

She oversees the office and keeps her staff working hard by a supply of cakes or sweet treats but will jump in should cover be needed for inspections or move outs in addition to her role. Melanie’s aim is to keep her clients happy! It’s a simple equation…Happy clients = Happy Melanie!

Melanie has lived locally for over 40 years and thinks Newark is a lovely place to visit, with so many individual shops and places to browse, it really does have the appeal to draw newcomers to the town.

In her spare time Melanie loves horse riding and walking her dog, so you will find her out and about most weekends.  When its not nice enough to be outside, she loves reading and since having grandchildren has rediscovered her knitting skills!

Susan Wilkinson - Accounts Administrator & Lettings Negotiator

Sue joined EMPM in 2016, primarily coming from a financial and customer service background. Sue is our accounts champion, we wouldn’t run this office without her, she makes all the payments to our landlords and contractors and makes sure all those rents are in and that the arrears are next to none!  The accounts is a tightly run ship!

She also works in the front office with the team a couple of days a week where she carries out inspections, viewings and move ins.  She ensures that the electrical safety certificates are in place and that the invoices are processed efficiently.

Sue has worked and lived in Newark and the local area all her life, her knowledge of the places of interest and transport network is second to none! In her spare time runs a local Guide Unit, she has two grown up children and she is also a member of Newark Striders Running Club where she is completing a number of charity runs, although if its raining dont expect to see her out!!  Sue enjoys a good glass of wine, or two.. along with many social weekends away and holidays to see her daughter in Canada whenever she can.

Ruth Salmon - Lettings Negotiator

Ruth has been with the team at the Newark office since 2018, previously having had a varied career from beauty therapy right through to working in criminal defence.  Ruth works in our front office team as a lettings negotiator.  Ruth’s work involves all aspects of the letting process for both landlord and tenants.

Her  personality allows her to deal with all types of queries / customers / requests that come her way.  She has a very positive impact of the office and is always approachable to answer any questions you may have. 

Ruth has lived in Newark since 2013 with her two daughters and two cats. When not at work she enjoys a good film at the cinema, a good shopping trip and social gin nights with her friends!

Amanda Wojak - Lettings Negotiator

Amanda joined the team in 2019 and comes with a very high level of customer service.   Her back ground is predominately Dentistry and Beauty which enables her to be attentive and understanding when required although she is no push over so be warned!! Her personality shines through and she is very much a people person where nothing is too much hassle for her, she will always endeavour to get an answer for you.

Amanda covers every aspect of the role such as viewings, inspections, move ins/outs and anything else that is required.

Amanda enjoys anything to do with home improvements, and is completing a diploma in interior design in her spare time, so going in and out of properties is the ideal job where she can gauge ideas, or perhaps give advice to landlords and tenants when required!

Random Fact:  Amanda has previously won both a bronze and a gold in an international cake decorating competition.

Nina Gell – Lettings Negotiator

Nina is the newest member of our team, joining us in January 2022.

Nina brings with her, previous knowledge of working in property and customer service skills from a variety of previous roles including the Civil Service and the fast-paced world of the NHS.  With her lovely helpful attitude and professionalism she has everything needed to take on this challenging and varied position.

You will find Nina at her happiest in the middle of a field walking her crazy cockapoo, or on a weekend away, escaping the buzz of everyday life, with her family and friends…. add to it a few gigs and festivals here and there = Happy Nina.

Nina loves all things nature and will often be found in the nearest crystal shop, purchasing her latest addition to her collection.

She always has a positive outlook on life and a giving nature, which makes her a great addition to our great team.
