The team based at EMPM’s Grantham office are delighted to have been selected for the finals of the Grantham Journal Business Awards in the Customer Care category. The finals will be held at St Wulfram Church in Grantham on Friday 2nd November

Quality customer care has its rewards

The company was founded in 1987 by John Hill. It became Humberts, Hill and Hill in 2002 and then changed to Grantham Property Management in 2005. In 2013 the business became known as East Midlands Property Management. The business has always been a letting agent and whilst there have been changes to the name and ownership over the years the company itself remains unchanged. Next year will see Branch Manager Melanie Bowen complete 20 years of service with the company.

Melanie says “We take great pride in the excellent customer service we provide to our landlords and tenants. It is also very important to us that our contractors also provide the same level of service. Every day is a challenge, but a challenge we take on board and deal with in the most appropriate way. When a tenant comes in to the office with a problem in their property then we take the appropriate action, whether this is to contact the landlord directly or to contact one of our contractors, to address the issue as soon as possible and in the most efficient manner.”

As most of our staff are part time, it is essential that everyone knows what is going on and when. Working in an open plan office provides the perfect platform for everyone to be informed, and although everyone has their own jobs to do, filling in and covering for someone when they are off is vital to the success of delivering excellent customer service. Our team is experienced and knowledgeable and live locally so can advise Landlords and tenants about the area.

As a fully qualified member of ARLA and a member of The Property Ombudsman, we go through various checks, keep up to date with any new rules or regulations and ensure compliance is implemented. Members of our team also attend regular training courses to gain their CPD points. In turn this ensures that our landlords and tenants are kept up to date and on the right side of the law.
